Children, teenagers and family therapy

We provide all aspects of medical practice for your whole family, including general check-ups or assisting you with specific injuries
We help children, adolescents and families deal with emotional and behavioral problems through psychotherapy techniques and methods. The care and attention of children is a challenge. There are questions common to all families: how to deal with problems related to challenging behaviors, how to help children express their emotions and understand them, how to help parents cope with the stresses of parenting, work and partnership, how to find balance after a change in the family environment, how to educate about sexuality, and how to help parents deal with the stresses of parenting, work and partnership, how to find balance after a change in the family environment.

Therapy Objectives

We seek to work with families to achieve different objectives:

  • That parents feel more confident in caring for their children.
  • That they can understand the stages of development
  • To work on communication between parents and children
  • Help children express themselves and learn social skills, developing self-esteem.
  • Manage anxiety and stress
  • Help with attention and behavioral difficulties both at school and at home.

Methodology

We employ play therapy and family therapy. Playing, drawing, building, and imitating are important ways to share, recognize and process feelings and thoughts.

We attend to children from 7 years old to 10 years old. Family participation is essential in children’s therapy. For this reason, the first session is almost always with the parents.

Therapy for adolescents

Adolescence is a critical stage of change and development in life, where growth implies a sense of greater control and independence.
Our therapists are trained to orient, guide and teach adolescents at this stage.

Some of the recurring questions are:

What to do when we see the adolescent isolated, with little or no communication with family members? is the adolescent depressed, with low self-esteem, insecure? how to help him/her with anxiety? what to do in stressful situations?
